Privacy Policy

We made our games to work where the internet doesn't. Turns out that's a pretty good privacy policy all by itself. Here's the rest of it, in plain English.

The short version

Our games are built to work offline. No accounts, no logins, no profiles, and no ad tracking inside the games. We couldn't spy on your campfire rounds if we wanted to — and we don't want to.

Who we are

Backcountry Games is a small studio making offline party games. If anything in this policy needs clearing up, email us at mitch@backcountrygames.com. A human reads it.

Our games

Our games run on your device, and your game data — scores, settings, whose turn it is — stays on your device. We don't collect gameplay analytics tied to you, and there are no third-party ad SDKs lurking inside. When you're out of signal, you're genuinely off the grid.

This website

Like most websites, backcountrygames.com keeps standard web-server logs: IP address, browser type, pages viewed. We use them to keep the site running and to understand traffic in aggregate — not to follow you around.

Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those font files from Google's servers when a page loads.

Email

If you email us or join the waitlist, we keep your email address for exactly two things: replying to you, and sending launch news. Unsubscribe any time by replying and saying so. We never sell or share your address.

App stores

If you buy one of our games, the store — Apple or Google — handles the payment. We never see your payment details.

Children

Our games don't collect personal information from anyone — and that includes kids.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top.

Your rights

Want to know what we hold about you? Email us and we'll tell you — usually the answer is nothing, or one email address. Want it deleted? Same email, and it's gone.
